Report: Living In Spirit – Swami Atmapriyananda

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 8:00 pm PDT, Swami Atmapriyananda delivered Living In Spirit lecture on – How to actualize Swami Vivekananda’s vision ‘the dry, abstract Advaita must become living, poetic, in everyday life’.

In Vedanta Society Berkeley’s signature Living In Spirit lecture series, spiritual seekers were treated to a highly illuminating talk by Swami Atmapriyananda at 8:00 pm PDT on Saturday, April 17, 2021. Swami Atmapriyananda, a brilliant speaker and Pro-Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute headquartered in Kolkata in India, provided a simple and profound answer to the question raised: Use the simple process of investigation into the inner nature of humans. He said Vedanta is based on this process of query as shown in Kenopanishad a favorite Upanishad of Swami Vivekananda or Prashna Upanishad. With great humor, Atmapriyanandaji reminded us that the “I” in us is most worthy of investigation since it is this ‘I’ that comes with each of us all the time, and therefore “the most beloved part of us.”

Vedanta Society Berkeley’s Living in Spirit series of lectures provide a platform for eminent academics and experts from diverse fields of study to explore ways in which their disciplines can help individuals realize the boundless human potential possibilities of life and find the way to manifest it.

About 70 international attendees participated in the event online. Several attendees expressed great appreciation for Swami Atmapriyananda’s message which reminded us that Advaita Vedanta is lively and poetic, vital and relevant to the investigation into our identity. The video of the lecture is available on Facebook and YouTube.
